We always have people asking what they can do with Washi Tape.. and since we got in some fun new designs last week we decided to show you how you can layer the tapes to create a "patchwork" look for either a page or for decorating cards. You can also pop up different layers and words to give it more dimension :-)
We carry little storage drawers which can be used for multiple different things. This weekend I played with some different ideas.. using it as an alternative form of scrapping (little pictures and blurbs about the event), as a standing calendar for upcoming events, or even as an easy recipe box. We also just got in the card punches which punch out a perfect 2 x 3 card.. two styles available: rounded edge or straight edge. This punch makes it easy to get all your cards the right size for simple presentation :-)
One of the most popular party decorations we've been seeing is the large paper flowers and the the tissue paper flowers. They are super easy to make and even easier now that we got in the new flower punchboard! It truely is as easy as cutting, punching, scoring, and folding. The results are beautiful and we even have the bendable plastic stems to make it a versatile decoration :-) Super fun and easy to make multiple sizes. I love the fairy garden look and how simple the design is... I can't wait to make my own so I can add feathers and glitter!
Yesterday we had a really fun demo! Monique, one of our most talented customers, showed us ANOTHER AMAZING card idea!! Monique loves to make the dimensional cards; the things that pop-out or stand up to give the best presentation. This week she showed us these 4 card ideas... 3 of which pop-up to stand on their own. She used the Gothic Arch dies from Memory Box to layer with vellum (put a tea-light behind it for a fun look), as well as a stained-glass type paper for the more traditonal look. Monique, your ideas once again are beyond beautiful.. Every customer this morning has been so intrigued!! Thanks for sharing :-)
This week for demo we had Emily, one of our reps, come out and show us some fun ideas using some of our new products! Using a bamboo stamp and 3 shades of green ink, she showed us how to play up a simple card box and create your own matching stationery.. her color scheme is really sweet.. the greens and creams work great for so many occasions!
She also made a little lantern using one of the dies from Tim Holtz. This adorable little lantern has some of our new printed vellum inserted as the little window panes. And to make it light up, she just inserted a little tea light. It makes a cute little table topper for a wedding reception or maybe for an upcoming garden party.
Emily then used the new Accordian Fancy Label die cuts to make a fun card with accents in the gold mirror-coat paper. It looks so intricate and beautiful! The mirror-coat paper gives the look of metal on black which really makes it pop!
Emily had so many great ideas, we had a lot of fun and she sent us all home with a make and take :-) Thanks Emily for sharing all your fun ideas!!
Wednesday we received some fun new accessories.. credit card holders with a security blocking case and matching stylus pens for smartphones! They come in several fun patterns and the stylus is also a pen.. It makes a simple gift for a friend or you can snag one for yourself! ;-)
Wendy and her students had a great time in last Saturday's class "Fine Art Canvas". The class incorporated some brand new stencils from The Crafters Workshop. Here are 2 projects that were completed during the class. These are amazing! All done in a 4 hour class by students who were exploring these techniques for the first time.
This past week we got in 2 new styles of die-cuts: Flip-its, which are really fun new dies from Sizzix, and Accordian Cards from Elizabeth Craft. How it works is that each pack comes with about 10 different dies. All you have to do is cut them out and put your card together! There is the main card piece, your layering pieces, and then the several different combinations of circles (or squares) to layer on your "Flip" pieces. We just barely pulled it out of the package and realized we needed to cut it out and play!! The finished card stands up on its own, for easy display, and the Flip part is really fun.. great for displaying a little photo, a small stamp, a flower, or even a few little items.. The opportunities are endless... and the cards are fun to play with! So whether you are making unique Save the Dates, invites to a party, or even if you want to display photos in a fun new way.. These new Flip-its and Accordian Cards just might be what you are looking for! Come in today and we are happy to walk you through how to make one!

We've been having fun moving the store.. so come in and see what's new!
So many flower ideas! Laurie, who is always coming up with clever ways to make books, rosettes, and calendars, showed us yesterday some new ways to make spring flowers! We had ideas with hearts, origami, and layering.. Some spins on some classic ideas as well as showcasing the Susan's Garden dies from Sizzix and new papers from KaiserCraft, the Botanical Tea line from Graphic 45, and the doodlebug Springtime collection.
