As I looked at her ideas, I realized that we could create something here at the store, using a few tools and papers, that had the same effect she was going for!!
Check it out!!
Then, I did some stamping. I used one of these new Alphabet Stamp sets new from Concord & 9th. The CAPS set is *perfect* for making monograms!! I used the Olympic Green ink pad from Versafine to get the color.. which matched beautifully.
The font on my invite matched up nicely with the flourish of the stamp set... great combo!!
I took 1 sheet of cardstock paper, cut down to 11" x 5 1/2"
Flip the paper over so that you can create a second diagonal score line on the other side of the paper. Below is a sample of the steps:
I used this inking tool by Tim Holtz to create this distressed edge.. it makes it look not-so-stark on the card and adds a bit of interest.
I added a couple other ideas for the inside .. this is where you might put directions, lodging info, or your RSVP postcard.
I used the black glitter tape on piece of text weight paper.. this made it so I can wrap the tape as a belly-band without the backside being so sticky.
I scored it at 1/4" , 4 1/4" and at 8 3/8"
Address your envelopes using a nice Uni-ball pen like a white or a gold! You can add a wax seal to add extra elegance and with a vintage feel..
