The demonstration was a LOT of fun.. and many of the gals left feeling very inspired!! We had ideas for card making as well as ideas for making mini, 3D Fairy Doors! As soon as the Demo was over.. everyone was buzzing with ideas!!
One of our regular customers, Pam Steinmeyer came in to visit with us today and brought in her COLLECTION of Fairy Doors that she made with her grand children!! Check out these stunning works of art..
Needless to say.. I was SCREAMING with excitement!! (The other customers in the store just had to see too.. I couldn't contain how THRILLED I was to see these little doors!!)
The base of each of these 3D doors is just a small metal tin. These tins are from Taylored Expressions (an Altoid tin also works perfectly). To make the front, Pam used popsicle sticks and "distressed" them using some brown ink.
She used a combination of die-cuts, charms, buttons, and brads to make these little scenes!!
This Garden Fairy one is just SO CUTE!!
I was shocked that she was able to find these little shapes like the mermaid.. guess what? IT'S A BUTTON!!!
On the inside, she used a combination of different die-cuts.. the ocean ones from Memory Box I noticed immediately! The Curious Octopi, Wandering Jellyfish, and the Seaweed Collage worked PERFECTLY here!! As well as the Seaweed Ribbons.
I just couldn't get over how perfect the Anchor sticker from Little B worked out and the small circle stickers from Stampendous as the bubbles!! SO CLEVER!!
AREN'T THESE THE CUTEST!!??
The Wildflower Border (by Memory Box) is one of my favorites.. and her layering of the die-cut in a variety of colors really set off these cards..
Isn't she SO CLEVER with the door knobs? She used a scrap she had laying around and put a gem in the center to make the idea of the knob!! I LOVE IT!!
If you would like to learn more about the Fairy Doors.. stop by and see us!! We would LOVE to share this wonderful little idea with you.. and who knows? You might be inspired to make your own Fairy Doors!!
